LESLIE MOONVES

Chairman and Chief Executive

CBS Corp.

Les Moonves oversees all operations of CBS Corp., including the CBS Television Network, the CW network, CBS Television Studios, CBS Global Distribution Group, CBS Films, CBS Interactive, Showtime Networks, CBS Sports Network, Simon & Schuster, CBS Television Stations, CBS Radio and CBS EcoMedia. The company has been embroiled in an ongoing dispute with Sheri Redstone, who currently has control of CBS parent National Amusements. She has been trying to force a merger between CBS and Viacom, also owned by National Amusements. It’s possible Moonves will be ousted before the end of this dispute, but reports say he stands to collect at least $184 million in severance if that happens. Moonves came to CBS in 1995 as president of entertainment after serving as president of Warner Bros. Television, where his team developed hit shows such as “Friends” and “ER.” He was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame as well as Broadcasting and Cable’s Hall of Fame and has received the Milestone Award from the Producers Guild of America.

EDITOR’S NOTE: On Aug. 27 after the Los Angeles Business Journal’s LA500 issue went to press, the New Yorker published a story in which six women accused Moonves of sexual misconduct. CBS issued a statement saying it would investigate the claims.Moonves released a statement to the New Yorker expressing regret for “making advances,” but added that he “never misused my position to harm or hinder anyone’s career.”
