L.A. Crowne Plaza Hotels Sold in Package Deal

The Crowne Plaza Hotel Los Angeles Airport and the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach, both on the list of 50 largest hotels in L.A. County, will be sold as part of a $331 million, 12-property deal.

A partnership formed by Hospitality Properties Trust, based in Newton, Mass., will be buying the hotels form a series of partnerships, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The values ascribed to the individual properties were not disclosed in the filing.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel Los Angeles Airport is the 13th largest hotel in the market, with 613 rooms and four suites. It was built in 1994. The Redondo Beach hotel, with 339 rooms and five suites, is the 46th largest in L.A. County and was built in 1985.

Hospitality Properties Trust has hotels in 38 states, with 13 percent of its portfolio in California. Its regional holdings include three Courtyard by Marriott hotels.
