Walk Against Cancer

As a breast cancer survivor, I want to express my gratitude to the 8,000 Southlanders who walked with me in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk-by-the-sea in Santa Monica June 8. The Bank of America Team was among those who turned in a total of $800,000 that day. Post-pledges and donations are still being accepted at the society’s nine local offices.

I wish that no woman would ever have to face the horror of breast cancer. Eight thousand walkers on June 8 brought me closer to my wish. Thank you to all the walkers and their pledge supporters. You have made a difference by raising funds for breast cancer research projects funded by the society, and their local patient service and educational programs. The thousands of steps taken that day equal one giant stride toward prevention, detection, patient support, and ultimately a future without breast cancer.
