The Los Angeles-based owners of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Inc.’s largest franchise have sued the chain, claiming executives misappropriated marketing funds and billed them for fake charges.
Richard Reinis and Roger Glickman, partners in Great Circle Family Foods LLC, also claimed that the chain was trying to force them into bankruptcy, made false representations, inflated prices and engaged in deceptive business practices. The suit was filed onThursday.
A Krispy Kreme spokeswoman said Friday that company officials hadn’t seen the suit and couldn’t comment.
