Ken Firtel founded and is a managing partner of Transom Capital Group, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm that specializes in middle-market companies. Firtel was previously at Platinum Equity. He also previously worked as an associate in the transactions department of O’Melveny & Myers, where he specialized in M&A, investor and company-side private equity, venture capital and debt financing and joint ventures. He is on the board of Angel City Sports, an organization that provides athletic and other opportunities for children and adults with physical disabilities. He is also on the board of the L.A. Breakers FC youth soccer club in Los Angeles.

What was your proudest moment?

Professionally, the proudest moment that we have had in raising our most recent committed capital fund in less than 90 days.

What is your alma mater?

Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University; Master of Science, Industrial Relations-Diploma in Business Studies from the London School of Economics; Juris Doctor from the USC Gould School of Law

What is your next project?

We are looking for opportunities to deploy capital out of our most recent committed capital fund.

What do you like best about Los Angeles?

I like all the activities that I can do with my wife and kids. Parks, beach, sporting events, etc.
