Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. said that it received a construction management contract worth $180 million for the Nacimiento Water Project from the San Luis Obispo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District.

The Pasadena-based engineering and consulting firm said it will furnish professional services through June 2011, and will oversee the performance of independent contractors to accomplish various work under way.

The Nacimiento Water Project is a regional facility that will deliver up to 15,750 acre feet-per-year of raw water from Lake Nacimiento to communities throughout San Luis Obispo County and will include about 45 miles of pipe, Jacobs said.

Shares in Jacobs were up $1 to $84.98 in early trading Tuesday.
