HuffPo Snags Yahoo and AOL Ad Veteran

The Huffington Post is ready to get serious about revenue, hiring former Yahoo and AOL advertising executive Greg Coleman as president and chief revenue officer.

Coleman has had some success in jolting ad sales. He was head of advertising at Yahoo for seven years and later headed to AOL to run its Platform-A division. Coleman also has close ties to new Huffington Post CEO Eric Hippeau, who serves on Yahoo’s board of directors.

Huffington Post is currently expanding its vertical content, launching sites specific to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver. Next week the company will release a site dedicated to technology news, while a book-specific site is planned for October.
