Grey’s Anatomy, 24 Lead Emmy Charge

Fox drama “24” starring Kiefer Sutherland and ABC’s medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” were among the top nominees for the 58th Annual Emmy Awards, the Wall Street Journal reports.

“24” garnered 12 nominations, while “Grey’s Anatomy” earned 11. The leading nominee, however, was the Steven Spielberg miniseries “Into the West,” that aired on the TNT network, with 16 nominations.

The awards for the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles early Thursday by past Emmy winners Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Seinfeld”) and Brad Garrett (“Everybody Loves Raymond”). The ceremony was brief and focused on nominees in the top 11 categories. There are 90 Emmy categories in all.
