Walt Disney Co. and other Hollywood studio owners have settled a copyright lawsuit against movie-sharing Web site ShowStash.com after its owner agreed to pay damages of $2.77 million.
District Judge George Wu in Los Angeles approved the settlement Tuesday, ending a 10-month case between members of the Motion Picture Association of America and Timur Azaev, the owner of the site.
Three days earlier, the same court agreed to a $1.38 million settlement in the studios’ copyright case against Cinematube.net, also a movie-sharing site.
Shares in Disney closed down 1.3 percent to $33.66 Wednesday.
