Walt Disney Co.’s ABC television network has completed the merger of its TV programming and production divisions and named veteran executives to run the operation.

Jeff Bader, executive vice president of ABC Entertainment Group, will supervise planning, schedule and distribution. He also has responsibility for primetime and late-night programming.

Barry Jossen, executive vice president, ABC Entertainment Group, will direct the creative function of the combined operation. Mia Rondinella, vice president of ABC Entertainment Group, will identify growth opportunities and develop new business, according to a statement from the company.

The merger, designed to help ABC produce more of its own shows, will result in the elimination of less than 40 jobs, according to Bloomberg News.

The Burbank media and entertainment company announced the merger in January.
