David Bohnett is a philanthropist and technology entrepreneur. In 1994 he founded GeoCities.com, a pioneering social-networking site that he took public in 1998 and sold to Yahoo Inc. in 1999. Bohnett then established Baroda Ventures, a venture capital firm providing pre-seed and seed-stage investments in the internet, e-commerce, mobile, SaaS, blockchain and digital media space, with a particular focus on Los Angeles-based companies. His prior investments include Xdrive.com, Wireimage.com, Stamps.com and LowerMyBills.com. He also established the David Bohnett Foundation, a grant-making organization committed to improving society through social activism. Bohnett serves as chairman of the executive committee of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. He also is vice chair of the board of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and a trustee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the University of Southern California.
