The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is expected to endorse Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s health care reform proposal today. The proposal, which includes a 4 percent payroll fee on employers with 10 or more employees that don’t already contribute that amount to their employees’ healthcare, has drawn criticism from business advocate groups as well as state Republicans, who say the measure will be too costly to businesses. The Chamber’s directors said the proposal could be used as a template to pass health care reform during the upcoming special legislative session.
