U.S. chain store sales rose in the first week of February, a report said on Tuesday.
Sales in February’s first week were up 0.6 percent over January. Sales at major retailers rose by 2.3 percent on a year-over-year basis for the week ended Feb. 5, said Redbook Research, an independent company.
The Redbook data are compiled from a sample of same-store sales at general merchandise retailers representing about 9,000 stores.
