Chain store sales rose in the final week of December, as shoppers were drawn to stores to exchange gifts and hunt for bargains the day after Christmas, a report said on Wednesday.
Sales at major retailers rose by 2.6 percent on a year-over-year basis for the week ended December 31, said Redbook Research, an independent company.
