Calabasas Lamborghini, which opened last November amid much fanfare, has been closed, along with a dealership in Orange County, the Italian automaker said Thursday.
The Calabasas dealership, at 23833 Ventura Blvd., appeared deserted on Thursday, its lot cleared of luxury sports cars. The door to the dealership was locked, but office equipment, artwork and flat-screen TVs could be seen inside. Lamborghini Orange County, the world’s largest Lamborghini dealer, also closed.
Pietro Frigerio, chief operating officer at Santa Monica-based Automobili Lamborghini America LLC, told the Register that bad business decisions and not the sluggish economy were to blame for the closures.
