entered into an agreement with Hard Rock International to license and develop Hard Rock Casino games for various videogame systems. The L.A.-based publisher of console videogames said the Hard Rock Casino game allows users to try their luck at more than 20 different casino games with their own customizable characters. Crave has also created games for the World Championship Poker brand.





Toronto-based SunOpta Inc. completed its acquisition of the outstanding shares of

Pacific Fruit Processors, Inc.

The undisclosed purchase price for the South Gate-based manufacturer of fruit products included a combination of cash and notes payable. As a result of the acquisition, SunOpta formed a new operating group, the SunOpta Fruit Group, consisting of Pacific and the company’s subsidiaries Organic Ingredients Inc. and Cleugh’s Frozen Foods, Inc.





Rapiscan Systems, a subsidiary of Hawthorne-based

OSI Systems, Inc.

, was awarded a $2.7 million contract by a unit of the Department of Homeland Security to develop a system that detects and identifies radioactive materials within cargo and vehicles. In this competitive-bid initiative, Homeland Security will review Rapiscan’s system, along with the other company entries, before eventually narrowing down the field to the top-three systems. Homeland Security plans to use the final system at ports and border crossings.



– Direct Response Financial Services, Inc.

signed a letter of intent to acquire L.A.-based del Rey Marketing, Inc. for $12 million in cash and stock. Westlake Village-based Direct Response said the closing of the deal is contingent upon completion of an audit of del Rey Marketing’s financial statements and approval of a joint operations budget for the 2005-2006 year. Chris del Rey will continue to act as CEO and president of del Rey Marketing, a Hispanic marketer to the grocery industry. Additional details were not disclosed.
