Broadway Financial Corp. said Wayne-Kent A. Bradshaw has been named president and chief operating officer.

The Los Angeles holding company of Broadway Federal Bank said Tuesday that Bradshaw, who has 38 years of experience in banking, most recently was regional president and national manager of community and external affairs at Washington Mutual. Prior to that, he was chief executive at two Los Angeles community banks, Family Savings Bank and Founders National Bank.

“Attracting a senior level executive with Wayne’s experience and talent will facilitate the continued growth and profitability of the company by expanding the management resources and capabilities of the bank,” said Chief Executive Paul C. Hudson, whose bank primarily targets South Los Angeles and Inglewood.

Bradshaw also serves on the board of the California State University, Northridge Foundation and the Northridge Hospital Medical Center Community Advisory Board.
