ABC To Sell News Footage on iTunes

ABC said it will start selling archived television news footage on Apple Computer Inc.’s iTunes on-line music store. ABC, a division on Burbank-based Walt Disney Co., said it plans to sell clips on historic events such as the O.J. Simpson car chase and celebrity interviews for $1.99 each. TV Guide Goes Mobile


Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. said its TV Guide Mobile Entertainment division is collaborating with 4INFO Inc., a mobile search and delivery service, to offer television listings on cellular phones. The Los Angeles-based media and publishing company said that cell phone users for any carrier will be able to search for channel listings, specific program listings and time-based programming from their mobile phones through short message service or wireless application protocol. Shares of Gemstar-TV Guide closed flat at $3 in trading on the Nasdaq.



OSI Subsidiary Gets Military Contract


OSI Systems Inc. said its Rapiscan subsidiary has received a $5 million order for cargo and vehicle inspection systems. The company said the equipment was purchased by an international customer, whose name was not disclosed. Rapiscan manufactures X-ray equipment installed in airports worldwide. OSI has seen its stock rise recently because it is one of only two companies with technology capable of detecting liquid or gel-based explosives. Shares of OSI were down 1.7 percent to $18.86.
