Wilshire Bancorp Reports Record Profits

Wilshire Bancorp reported second quarter net income of $8.4 million (29 cents per share), a 25 percent increased over $6.8 million (23 cents per share) for the same period last year, a 25 percent increase. Net interest income for the Los Angeles-based bank rose 30% to $19.4 million.



ePoint Gets U.K. Contract


Global ePoint, Inc. a manufacturer of digital surveillance and detection solutions, said First Choice Airways, based in the United Kingdom, has ordered its Cockpit Door Surveillance System. The City of Industry-based company said the order was for two Boeing 767 aircraft — ePoint said it has already delivered 40 similar kits for the First Choice aircraft fleet’s A320, A321, and B757 models, the company said.



K-Swiss Earning Up


K-Swiss Earnings rose about 21 percent to $20.3 million, or 58 cents per share, from $16.8 million, or 47 cents per share, a year ago. But revenue fell almost 2 percent to $124.2 million from $126.5 million.



Health Care Properties Declares Dividend


Long Beach-based Health Care Property Investors Inc. said its board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of 42.5 cents per share. The common stock cash dividend will be paid on August 18, 2006 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on August 7, 2006.



Youbet Lands New Credit Facility


Youbet.com Inc. said that it closed a new $19 million, four-year credit facility with Wells Fargo Foothill Bank. The new credit facility, consisting of a $15 million term loan and a $4 million revolving credit facility, replaces United Tote’s existing bank credit facility with Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company, which Youbet guaranteed at the time it acquired United Tote in February 2006.



Ryland Declares Dividend


Calabasas-based Ryland Group, Inc. said its board of directors has declared a third-quarter dividend of 12 cents per share, payable on Oct. 30, 2006 to shareholders of record on Oct. 15.
