Image Inks Deal With Disc Maker

Chatsworth-based Image Entertainment Inc. has chosen Weaverville, N.C.-based Sonopress LLC to act as the exclusive manufacturer for all DVDs including Blue-ray and HD DVD discs, Image said. The deal is reported to be for five years for at least 75 million units and the deal also may include Image’s CD replication needs.

Northrop May Get Part of Pakistan Weapons Deal


The Pentagon may sell Pakistan up to $5 billion in aircraft, weapons and electronics that can be used to attack terrorist ground targets, the Defense Department’s primary arms sales agency said today.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency outlined the details of the proposed sales first disclosed in general terms by the White House late last week. The proposed sale would include up to F-16 fighter jets as well as ground-based missile systems. Northrop Grumman Corp. was named as one of the suppliers in addition to Lockheed Martin Corp., Boeing Co. and Raytheon Co. The U.S. Congress has been notified by the Pentagon about the intended sale to Pakistan.
