Radio Disney Now on iTunes
Radio Disney, a division of Burbank-based Walt Disney Co., said its programming is now available via streaming live broadcasts on the iTunes Radio Tuner, the company said. The station, popular with younger children, preteens and families, will be available in the “Top 40/Pop” section. Radio Disney is also heard on more than 50 stations in the U.S., United Kingdom, Japan and most of South America and is also available on XM and Sirius satellite radio and some digital cable outlets.
Former Univision Executive Is Named Executive Director of SEC
The Securities and Exchange Commission said it has named Diego Tomas Ruiz as its executive director. Ruiz recently served as deputy chief of the office of strategic planning and policy analysis at the Federal Communications Commission and before that held several management positions at Los Angeles-based Univision Communications Inc. Ruiz will begin his new position on August 21 and will be responsible for overseeing budget planning as well as preparing the SEC’s financial statements.
99 Cents Only Hit Again
99 Cents Only Stores said net sales for the first quarter ended June 30 rose 8 percent to $263.6 million, up from $244.7 million in the year-ago period. The company said it has not yet filed its fiscal year or first quarter earnings report because it is still updating its financial statements. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the retailer said it expects quarterly net income to meet its previous guidance of 1 cent a share, which compares with net income of 7 cents a share in the year-ago period. City of Commerce-based 99 Cents Only Stores has 239 retail stores in California, Texas, Arizona and Nevada.
