THE LATEST: Ares was one of the first firms to explore new corporate registration structure last year, changing from a limited partnership to a corporation. Some experts have said the move is more advantageous under rules implement by the Trump administration. Rosenthal is a co-managing owner of Major League Soccer’s LA Football Club.
BACKGROUND: Rosenthal is a member of the Ares Executive Management Committee, the seven-member governing group that controls the firm, and helps oversee the publicly traded company’s $137 billion in assets under management. He also serves as Ares Capital Corp.’s board co-chair. Rosenthal joined Ares in 1998 from Merrill Lynch & Co., where he served as a managing director in the Global Leveraged Finance Group.
WORTH NOTING: Rosenthal serves as chairman of the LAFC Foundation and on the boards of City Ventures and the parent entities of Aspen Dental Management Inc., CHG Healthcare Holdings, AZEK Co., DuPage Medical Group, and National Veterinary Associates Inc.
