AT & T; Inc. said Wednesday that viewers in the Los Angeles area will soon have the option of ordering the company’s new U-verse digital fiber optic video and high-speed Internet services.

San Antonio-based AT & T; said it has built out its fiber-optic network in the state and will soon be able to offer the services. AT & T; did not release prices or a time frame for the release but rates are between $74 and $119 for both Internet and cable packages in Milwaukee, Kansas City and Dallas-Fort Worth where the service is currently offered.

AT & T; said the service will offer up to 300 channels with more in high definition than any other cable provider as well as the ability to simultaneously record four channels and let users update and change their digital video recorders from any broadband connection around the globe, AT & T; spokesman Wes Warnock said.

Since the service debuted last June in San Antonio, AT & T; said it has signed up 18,000 residential subscribers and is currently averaging 2,000 installations a week.
