Sun kings:
In its only stop on the West Coast, “Pharaohs of the Sun: Akhenaten, Nefertiti, Tutankhamen” is on display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art through June 4. Welles redux:
While making a guest appearance on “I Love Lucy” in the ’50s, Orson Welles pitched a new show called “The Fountain of Youth” to Desi Arnaz. Welles wrote, directed, produced, narrated and hosted the pilot, which won a Peabody Award but was rejected by the networks. All aboard: Bill Everett, a former California Highway Patrol officer, spends his retirement making small-scale reproductions of L.A.’s famed street cars.
