Aecom Technology Corp. posted strong earnings Thursday boosted by its international business.
Aecom reported that its net income increased 69 percent to $35.8 million (35 cents per share), beating analysts’ expectations of 31 cents per share, according to FactSet.
Sales for the Los Angeles-based engineering and consulting firm rose 7 percent to $1.2 billion.
“The global infrastructure market continues to fuel a solid demand for our services,” Aecom said.
The firm was involved in several Middle Eastern projects during the quarter, including support for Abu Dhabi’s Ain Khalid Commercial Avenue project and consulting for the Libyan Housing and Infrastructure Board.
Shares in Aecom were up 2.6 percent to $29.64 in early trading Thursday.
