Dine Equity CEO Julia Stewart, nick-named the Velvet Hammer, is one of the toughest customers at her Glendale-based company’s IHOP and Applebee’s restaurants.
Stewart, who turned around IHOP’s menu and financials, has turned her sights on upgrading the Applebee’s chain, which the company acquired last year.
