Garland Kelley, partner and co-chair of the crisis management & response department focuses his practice on securities litigation and complex business litigation. Typical matters include class actions, complex business disputes, multi-jurisdictional matters, transnational litigation, corporate investigations, derivative litigation, and matters where there are opportunities to shape the law in meaningful ways. In the last year, Kelley has built out the firm’s newest practice with a number of matters, including an internal investigation at NMC, prompted by comments published by short sellers that led to a sharp decline in NMC’s share price. Another matter culminated in a complete dismissal with prejudice of a class action lawsuit filed against client, Papa John, a rare example of the dismissal of a securities class action lawsuit at the initial pleading stage.
