Dale Ortmann is a senior shareholder and co-founder of Hunt Ortmann, with 40 years’ experience in construction and real estate law. He works with construction industry clients from project inception, including contract preparation and negotiations, to project conclusion, including the resolution of construction claims and disputes in mediation, arbitration and litigation. His clients include public agencies, developers, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, design professionals, homeowner’s associations and sureties in such matters. Ortmann has successfully represented clients in jury and court trials, arbitrations, mediations before Dispute Resolution Boards. He is also a frequent speaker before numerous construction industry organizations. Recently, Ortmann successfully represented the largest water district in California in a dispute with a general contractor who asserted a $10 million claim for extra work and project delays and disruptions on a water filtration plant retrofit project. On the eve of jury trial, the contractor waived approximately 90% of its claim.
