Alex Kelly’s white collar and European services practice includes defending clients against government investigations, conducting internal investigations, and advising on export control and foreign bribery compliance matters. She is serving on the team assisting the Special Compliance Coordinator (SCC) appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) to monitor, assess and report on the export control compliance of a major Chinese telecommunications company as part of an historic $1.4 billion settlement agreement. She leads the Subsidiaries sub-team, which focuses on the operations and export control risks of the telecommunications company’s several hundred subsidiaries and affiliates. In this role, Kelly manages a team of around 30 lawyers of all levels of seniority, in addition to a team of forensic accountants and due diligence experts. She creates and monitors assignments to assess the corporate structure of, and collects and analyzes data about the company’s affiliates.
