Dick, June and Kirk Rossberg opened Torrance Bakery in 1984. The full-line retail bakery started with 9 employees and 1200 square feet of space in downtown Torrance. Today the bakery has two locations with a combined 14,000 square feet and 98 employees. The full line bakery averages over 300 decorated cakes per week and has produced as many as 114 wedding cakes in one week. The cakes and crew have also been seen on several national TV shows. The bakery also provides dessert for the Rams, Chargers, Angels, Dodgers and other professional and college sports teams.

The passion of baking continues with Kirk, who still works six days a week. While he can and still does put on an apron to bake and decorate cakes alongside his staff, he gets a greater satisfaction in guiding and teaching the next generation of bakers and cake decorators.
