The center of the Hollywoodland Community since 1934, more than 20 years before the filming of Alfred Hitchcock’s Birds at that location, The Beachwood Market is now run by the second generation of the Pappolexis family.
The iconic Beachwood Market has employed local high school students, been responsive to the tastes of its clients, and continually carries inventory as unique and comforting as its historic hillside neighborhood. Its slanting glass-fronted addition was built in 1952 and designed by John Lautner.
