Michael Markunas is deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer of B. Riley FBR, Inc. the investment banking subsidiary of B. Riley Financial, Inc. Markunas has served as in-house counsel to B. Riley since 2016 and was appointed chief compliance officer during that same year. At B. Riley, Markunas is responsible for all aspects of legal and regulatory compliance for its broker-dealer operations.
With over 30 years of legal and regulatory experience on Wall Street, Markunas brings deep industry experience which, combined with his extensive legal expertise, serves a mission-critical role for B. Riley Financial. Markunas serves in a blended role advising on legal matters as deputy general counsel and monitoring regulatory compliance as chief compliance officer while helping to integrate the company’s various acquisitions.
