BACKGROUND: Gold leads Shamrock Holdings Inc., a private equity firm that serves as an investment for certain members of the Roy Disney family. Gold, who co-founded Shamrock in 1978, served as president and chief executive from 1985 to 2013. He has overseen more than $2 billion in investments across a variety of industries. Gold was a director of Walt Disney Co., where he was actively involved in reshaping the strategic direction of the entertainment company. He also served as a managing partner of law firm Gang Tyre Ramer & Brown Inc.
