THE LATEST: Hernandez is up for reelection on May 23 for his seat on the McDonald’s Corp. board, where he has served as chairman since 2016. He stepped down from the board of Nordstrom Inc. in 2017 after 20 years.
BACKGROUND: Hernandez joined Inter-Con Security Systems, one of the world’s largest private security providers, in 1984. Today, Inter- Con employs more than 25,000 people across the globe and provides security services to the State Department, Justice Department and individuals with a high net worth. Prior to joining Inter-Con, Hernandez worked as a litigation attorney at Brobeck Phleger & Harrison in Los Angeles. Hernandez was one of four members to step down from Wells Fargo & Co.’s board last year after several scandals at the financial giant. Hernandez also sits on the board of Chevron Corp.
WORTH NOTING: Hernandez is a trustee for the University of Notre Dame and formerly served as president of the Los Angeles Police Commission.
