Dale Ortmann is a senior shareholder and co-founder of Hunt Ortmann, with 40 years of experience in construction and real estate law. He works with construction industry clients from project inception, including contract preparation and negotiations, to project conclusion, including the resolution of construction claims and disputes in mediation, arbitration and litigation. His clients include public agencies, developers, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, design professionals, and homeowners associations. Ortmann has successfully represented clients in jury and court trials, arbitrations, and mediations before Dispute Resolution Boards. He is also a frequent speaker before numerous construction industry organizations on current legal trends.
Recently, Ortmann successfully represented the largest water district in California in a dispute with a general contractor who asserted a $10 million claim. On the eve of jury trial and after multiple rulings on pretrial motions in favor of his client, the contractor waived approximately 90% of its claim.
