Steve Flynn has more than three decades of finance experience, specializing in capital-markets products for a wide range of industries, including technology and entertainment. Flynn and his team of commercial bankers focus on middle-market clients in the Greater Los Angeles area. The Birmingham, Ala., bank traces its roots to 1964 when it was known as the Central Bank & Trust Co. The bank changed its name to Compass Bancshares in the 1990s and became BBVA Compass following the 2007 acquisition by Spain’s second-largest bank, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria. Flynn holds a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, and geology from Rice University. He carries FINRA series 79 and 63 (California) licenses.
What was your proudest moment?
Encouraging a friend who grew up in Indiana, but desperately wanted to live in LA, make the move, find a job and feel happy about his life.

Who is your hero?
My late grandmother, who came from rural coal country in Pennsylvania, but made it as a career woman in NYC. She showed me determination and love.
