Alan Bergman is president of Walt Disney Studios, where he is responsible for marketing and distribution of the studio’s slate of motion pictures from Disney, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm. He also is in charge of the studio’s franchise management, business affairs, finance, legal, labor relations, technology, and operations. Under Bergman, Disney has achieved record highs at the global box office: In 2016 it became the first studio to cross the $7 billion mark in a calendar year, and in 2017 it became the first studio to surpass $6 billion twice. Bergman joined Disney in 1996 as a director in the corporate controllership group and went on to hold various senior roles before he was named president of Walt Disney Studios in 2005. He has a bachelor’s degree in business economics from UCLA.
