LEANDRO PALENCIA: Wedbush Securities – Corporate Counsel
Leandro Palencia has a keen interest in science and technology and his work for Wedbush Securities often touches on these areas. He works with Wedbush’s life sciences investment banking division, assisting with the drafting and negotiation of engagement letters, which set forth the services Wedbush will provide its clients. Palencia also works with the investment banking and syndicate departments and outside counsel in preparing documents for acquisitions, financings, and syndicate deals. These agreements are valuable to the firm as the fees Wedbush can generate from these investment banking transactions can be significant.
Palencia is currently leading the legal department’s efforts in assisting the investment banking and treasury departments develop new business lines.

Tyler Theobald currently serves as assistant general counsel and compliance officer at Marcus & Millichap, a publicly traded multibillion- dollar national commercial real estate brokerage. He joined the firm in 2014. Theobald provides advice and counsel to executive management and the firm’s investment sales professionals on topics including commercial litigation, real estate transactions, risk avoidance, and labor and employment issues.
Theobald also litigates for Marcus & Millichap, representing the firm and its sales professionals in court and arbitration across the country. The firm’s legal department is a central part of its value proposition to both clients and sales professionals. As such, Theobald helps the company develop strategies to effectuate its core mission of helping clients create and preserve wealth.
