A former federal prosecutor and currently a partner in O’Melveny’s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations practice, Maggie Carter is regularly called upon by Los Angeles’ leading institutions and executives when facing regulatory issues, government enforcement, and novel, cutting-edge legal issues. Carter possesses a unique ability to navigate issues of public concern and negotiate solutions that satisfy public needs and allow for business continuity, innovation and growth. Carter led the O’Melveny team that in February resolved a high-profile licensing issue between the City of Santa Monica and the wildly popular electric scooter start-up Bird. The settlement allows the company to continue to operate and grow in partnership with the communities in which it operates. Carter continues to represent Bird on regulatory issues as the company grows.
