ExpertDojo: Entrepreneur mentorship and training company ExpertDojo of Santa Monica launched a co-working space on top of shopping mall Santa Monica Place. The company plans to offer educational services to its tenants and host events in the new space.

Disney: Burbank’s Walt Disney Co. launched a set of interactive roll-playing toys called Playmation. Modeled after plasma-shooting superhero gadgets from the movie “The Avengers,” the toys are designed to combine physical play with digital play.

Rubicon Project: Online advertising marketplace Rubicon Project of Playa Vista launched a new marketplace in partnership with mobile advertising company InMobi of San Francisco. The new marketplace will sell mobile native and video advertisements on behalf of InMobi.

Oink: Virtual Piggy of Hermosa Beach has launched a peer-to-peer payment feature on its child-safe payments app, Oink. The new feature allows kids to transfer money to each other, under the supervision of their parents. Related: Payment App Short on Cash

AsterRide: Seattle’s AsterRide, a taxi and limousine hailing app, launched service in Los Angeles. By allowing passengers to request rides via an on-demand app, the company is trying to bring the taxi industry up-to-speed with ride sharing companies such as Uber and Lyft.
