Firm Acquisition: Bolton & Co., a Pasadena insurance brokerage, has acquired Universal City’s Rick Gombar Insurance Services Inc., which works with the security industry. As part of the transaction, Rick Gombar will become a Bolton executive vice president, and Gombar and his employees will move to Bolton’s Pasadena office. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Medical Property: Markwood Enterprises Inc., a Century City investment firm, has purchased a Pasadena medical office building for $7 million from a private investor. The 23,776-square-foot property at 66 Hurlbut St. is fully leased to Pacific Clinics, a non-profit health care agency that has occupied the building for more than 20 years and has a lease deal through June 2023.
Company Landed: Ameriflight, an air charter and cargo services provider based at Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport, has been acquired by Pebbles Aviation, an investment group in Sarasota, Fla. Ameriflight provides feeder services to overnight express carriers as well as contract services to freight forwarders, banks and laboratories. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Southern Pickup: CBRE Group Inc., a downtown L.A.-based real estate services and investment company, has acquired the commercial real estate brokerage, investment property sales and property management services business as well as certain affiliates of Furman Co. Inc., a Greenville, S.C.-based real estate services company. Furman has served as CBRE’s affiliate in upstate South Carolina and has operated as CBRE | Furman since 2010. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Rolling In: Live Basil Pizza, a Denver-based fast-casual pizza chain, has chosen L.A. Live for its third shop, which will be its first outside of Colorado. The new outpost is at 1011 S. Figueroa St.
Overseas Contract: AecomTechnology Corp., a downtown L.A.-based construction and engineering services company, has received design consultancy contract of about $13 million and a construction supervision contract of about $103 million for the Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel project in Hong Kong. The project will include construction of a 2.6-mile, two-lane highway.
New Outpost: GenSpring Family Offices, a Jupiter, Fla.-based wealth management firm for ultrahigh-net-worth families, has expanded its California presence with a new office in Century City. Alan Bonde will oversee the L.A. outpost, which is the firm’s third in the state, in addition to offices in San Francisco and Costa Mesa. The new office is at 1999 Avenue of the Stars.
Padding Wallet: Allied Wallet, a West Hollywood-based provider of online payment services, has acquired CloudAsia, a Hong Kong-based online payment services provider for the Chinese market. Allied Wallet purchased the company to expand its Asian market presence. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.offices in San Francisco and Costa Mesa.
