Dialed In: Pasadena’s Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire Federal Network Systems, an Ashburn, Va., provider of communication and information security and services. FNS, a subsidiary of New York’s Verizon Communications, specializes in working for the intelligence community and Department of Defense. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.


Deal Landed: Velocity Aerospace Group of Burbank has acquired EDN Aviation Inc. of Van Nuys. Velocity is a global aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul company. EDN is also an aircraft repair company, specializing in cockpit repairs, including control panel components such as light plates, circuit breaker panels, control wheels and knobs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.



Seed Round: Enplug, a Culver City social-media display maker, has received $2.5 million in seed funding from a slew of venture capital funds and private investors. Participants in the round include Oaktree Capital co-founder Larry Keele, Juniper Networks founding member Rasoul Oskouy and Idealab founder Bill Gross, among others. The 2-year-old startup sells its digital displays, which show clients real-time social media interactions on Twitter, Facebook, Yelp, Foursquare and Instagram.


Cued Up: Live Nation Entertainment Inc., a Beverly Hills concert promoter, has purchased Creativeman’s minority stake to assume full ownership of Live Nation Japan. Creativeman is a Japanese concert promoter. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.


Hooked Up: Riordan Lewis & Haden, a Westwood private equity firm, has sold portfolio company Secure Mission Solutions to Pasadena engineering company Parsons Corp. Secure Mission is a North Charleston, S.C.-based provider of information and online security services to U.S. government agencies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.



Revved Up: Kahn Media Inc., a Reseda PR and marketing company with a focus on the auto industry, has been hired to represent Nitto Tire U.S.A. Nitto, in Cypress, a subsidiary of Osaka, Japan’s Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd., will work with Kahn and its Long Beach digital agency, Cie Studios, to increase sales through more brand visibility and promotion at motorsports events.



Residential Sale: Korda Group, an L.A. real estate services company, has sold a Whittier multifamily property for $13.4 million to Irvine’s Bascom Group. The Four Winds Apartments, at 8121 Broadway Ave., consists of 138 units across nine buildings covering five acres.



Powered: Anywind Wind Power Electric Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Siheung, South Korea’s Pishon Energy Inc., has signed a memorandum of understanding with Palmdale to set up its headquarters in the city as well as acquire another property where it will manufacture wind turbine systems. The company will open its HQ at 450 W. Palmdale Blvd. and is looking to purchase a 130,000-square-foot building at 600 Technology Drive for its manufacturing facility.
