Sweet Digs: Malibu gourmet candy company Sugarfina has opened its first brick-and-mortar shop, choosing Beverly Hills for as the site. The approximately 1,400-square-foot shop, at 9495 S. Santa Monica Blvd., will feature the company’s signature turquoise boxes and allow customers to choose from more than 140 types of candy from around the world. Co-founders Rosie O’Neill and Josh Resnick launched the company as an online business in August 2012.
Property Purchase: Atlantic Pearl Investments Inc., a West Hollywood real estate investment company, has purchased a Westwood office building for $12 million from Koreatown’s Jamison Services Inc. The property, at 1990 Westwood Blvd., was built in 1982 and totals 53,552 square feet.

Planes Landed: Jet Edge International, a Van Nuys aircraft charter and management company, has added four business jets to its fleet. Jet Edge now has 24 large-cabin aircraft in its fleet operating out of Southern California and three other states. The new craft are two Dassault Falcons and two Gulfstream IVs.
Overseas Expansion: Cherokee Inc., a Van Nuys apparel and accessories brand-licensing company, has struck a deal to sell Liz Lange Maternity brand online and at retail stores in India. Cherokee reached an agreement with Mahindra Group of Mumbai,which will sell the maternity brand through Mahindra’s Mom & Me retail stores and websites.
Florida Pickups: IPC the Hospitalist Co. Inc., a North Hollywood manager of hospital-based doctors groups, has purchased two acute care doctors groups on Florida’s Gulf Coast. IPC has acquired Neapolitan Inpatient Care in Naples and Venetian Hospitalist Services in Venice. Financial details of the acquisitions were not disclosed.
Acquisition Approval: Green Dot Corp., the Pasadena parent of Green Dot Bank, has received regulatory approvals from the Federal Reserve System’s board and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions for its previously announced acquisition of Wal-Mart Moneycard Potfolio from GE Capital Retail Bank. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of next year.Dig It: Pasadena’s Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has been awarded a procurement and construction management contract by Englewood, Colo.’s Midway Gold Corp. Jacobs will manage construction of ponds, buildings and other mine site infrastructure for Midway’s Pan project in White Pine County, Nev.
Class Move: Aveson Charter Schools, an operator of two public schools in Altadena that serve K-12 students, has opened its Aveson Global Leadership Academy campus. The new campus, at 575 W. Altadena Drive, will serve sixth- through 12th-grade students
