Retail Acquisition: D.G. Realty has sold a Melrose Avenue retail building for $3.85 million to Ness Holdings Inc. The 7,370-square-foot property, comprising 7300-7306 Melrose, was built in 1932 and includes three tenants: a barbershop, retail store and bar.



Irish Inroads: Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., a Pasadena engineering services company, has been awarded a contract from Ireland’s National Roads Authority to conduct health and safety site inspections on the National Road Network. The contract also calls for Jacobs to provide corporate support for occupational health and safety initiatives within the authority. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.



In Fashion: Clearlake Capital Group LP, a Santa Monica investment firm, has closed its acquisition and recapitalization of Bluefly Inc., a New York online fashion retailer. Neel Grover, Clearlake operating adviser, has been named chief executive officer and co-chairman of Bluefly. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Evolve Award: Downtown Santa Monica Inc., a non-profit that works with the city to manage service and promote economic stability and growth, has named ROC-Santa Monica its Evolve Award honoree. The award highlights progressive businesses that contribute to the innovation culture in Santa Monica.

Taking Seats: Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, a Beverly Hills private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of Champion Manufacturing Inc., an Elkhart, Ind., maker of seating products for the health care market, such as dialysis chairs. Levine partnered with Champion management to acquire the business, a subsidiary of Invacare Corp. in Elyria, Ohio. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed



Cleaning Up: Wash Multifamily Laundry Systems, an El Segundo-based laundry facilities management service for multihousing locations, has acquired Universal Laundries, a Chicago-based laundry facilities management service. The pickup is part of the company’s nationwide expansion strateg



Shot in Arm: SetPoint Medical, a Valencia developer of a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune inflammatory diseases, has received $27 million from investors, including Action Potential Venture Capital Ltd., a new venture capital fund at U.K. pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline PLC. SetPoint’s treatment system consists of a tiny implanted device that stimulates nerves with electricity and produces an anti-inflammatory effect.
