Taking Off: Bauer Transportation Inc., a San Francisco group-transportation services provider, has begun operating the FlyAway bus service between Van Nuys and Los Angeles International Airport. In January, the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners awarded Bauer a three-year, $15.3 million contract to operate the FlyAway service and lease the FlyAway facility on Woodley Avenue.
Healthy Salute: Health Net Inc., a Woodland Hills health insurer, received three awards at the Web Health Awards Winter-Spring 2012 Competition for creating electronic resources that help it connect with consumers and promote health education. The awards are given out by Health Information Resource Center, a Libertyville, Ill., clearinghouse for the consumer health fields.
Expansion Moves: IPC the Hospitalist Co. Inc., a North Hollywood provider of hospitalist services, has acquired two out-of-state practices and signed an agreement to provide hospitalist services for a hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. IPC acquired Ocala-based Hospital Medicine Associates of Florida PC and Chicago’s Transitions of Care PLLC. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. In addition, IPC has signed an exclusive agreement to provide Albuquerque’s Hearth Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center with hospitalist services.
Linking Up: Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University will launch an online master’s in business administration program for working professionals. The Online Fully Employed M.B.A. program will be an option alongside the school’s existing offerings. Graziadio is accepting applications for the first class, which will begin in January.
Honor Roll: Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on the university’s Westwood campus was ranked fifth on U.S. News and World Report’s Honor Roll of the 17 best hospitals in the United States. U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals in 16 patient care categories. Facilities making the Honor Roll scored near the top in at least six of the categories. UCLA Medical Center was the only California facility on the list. Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital topped the Honor Roll.

Lease Renewal: SuperCare Inc., a City of Industry medical equipment and supply provider, has signed a renewal for its 71,000 square feet of space at the Stimson Industrial Park. SuperCare’s property sits on six acres at East Valley Boulevard and South Stimson Avenue. Financial terms of the deal with landlord LW Income Properties were not disclosed.
