Shot in the Arm: The Nurse Travel division of On Assignment Inc., a Calabasas-based professional staffing firm, has been awarded a five-year contract to provide federal agencies with nurses and nurse practitioners. The contract covers professional and allied health care staffing services for all U.S. health care facilities, including Veterans Administration, Indian Health Services and Department of Defense facilities.


Energy Deal: Capstone Turbine Corp., a Chatsworth-based maker of mini-power generators, has received an order for 18 microturbines from EOG Resources, a Houston-based energy and natural gas company. EOG will use the microturbines at its Eagle Ford oil and gas field in South Texas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.



Get Moving: Aecom Technology Corp., a downtown L.A.-based Angeles provider of professional technical and management support services, has been awarded a $14.5 million contract from the Florida Department of Transportation. Under a five-year contract, Aecom will provide districtwide transportation systems services.



Air Force Contract: A Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. contract with the U.S. Air Force has been modified. The $103 million modification covers support work at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Jacobs is a Pasadena-based construction services firm.


Deli Debut: Deluca’s Italian Deli has opened at the Americana at Brand retail center in Glendale. Deluca’s, at 781 American Way, specializes in Italian sandwiches, antipasti and baked goods.



By Air and Sea: Northrop Grumman Corp., a Century City-based defense contractor, has been awarded a $9.8 million Air Force contract to replace radar equipment power amplifiers for the Saudi Arabia and French airborne warning and control system fleets. It also received a $42.4 million Navy contract to supply engineering, technical analysis and testing services at naval shipyards and fleet ports worldwide.

Home Grown: Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, a Beverly Hills restaurant, has launched a sister store in Century City. Greenleaf eateries feature locally grown produce and eco-conscious shop designs. The new location is at 1888 Century Park East.


Signed Up: Wonacott Communications LLC, a West L.A. PR and communications firm, has signed up Sanrio Digital and Heatwave Interactive as clients. Hong Kong-based Sanrio Digital is responsible for developing digital licenses and properties for Sanrio brands such as Hello Kitty. Heatwave Interactive Inc. is an Austin, Texas, video game and media developer.
