Image Entertainment Says Q2 Revenue Should Rise 43 Percent

Home entertainment distributor Image Entertainment Inc. said on Wednesday that it expects to report a 43 percent increase in revenue for its fiscal second quarter.

The Chatsworth home entertainment distributor company, which is scheduled to report its financials on Nov. 14, said it expects to record revenue of $31 million in the quarter ended Sept. 30. That compares to $21.6 million revenue for the same period a year ago.

For the full 2009 fiscal year, Image, which distributes content by DVD, CD and digitally, said revenue should range from $115 million to $125 million. The company did not provide earnings estimates for the quarter or year, but said the company should be profitable.

Shares of Image Entertainment were down 5 cents, or 6 percent, to 75 cents in morning trading on the Nasdaq.
