Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corp., a Long Beach-headquartered accounting and consulting firm, has named Jim Jimenez partner in its internal audit and business advisory services practice. Jimenez was previously a partner with Grant Thornton LLP, a Chicago-based auditing and management consulting firm.


Hydra, a Beverly Hills-headquartered advertising network, has named Gary Cooperman executive vice president of finance and administration. Cooperman previously served as vice president of finance and accounting at Helio LLC, a Westwood-based mobile phone service company.


Steven Drucker has joined the Culver City office of Shlemmer+Algaze Associates, a Newport Beach-headquartered interior design and architecture firm, as principal of design. Previously, Drucker was director in the Los Angeles office of Skidmore Owings & Merrill, a Chicago-based architecture firm.

Banking & Finance

Anthony Alfonso has been named managing director and head of the Western region practice in the Century City office of Trenwith Valuation LLC, a New York-headquartered company providing corporate valuation services. Previously, Alfonso served as senior vice president at Houlihan Lokey, a Century City-based investment bank.


The downtown Los Angeles office of Protiviti Inc., a Menlo Park-based global business consulting and internal audit firm, has promoted Stephen Arietta and Rick Franklin to associate directors from senior managers; Brad Causee, Gareth Gruffydd and Jeremy Marrs to managers from senior consultants; and Scott Kirk, Celeste Loredo and Jennifer Luke to senior managers from managers.


The Associates of California Institute of Technology, a philanthropic organization, has appointed Fred A. Blum president of the board. Blum is chairman of Trilience Research, a non-profit corporation that works with Caltech and other research institutes to promote the integration of neuroscience and brain research into the behavioral sciences.

Health Care

City of Hope has hired Ernest Soyoung Han as surgical oncologist in the division of gynecologic oncology. Han was previously a clinical instructor and gynecologic fellow at University of California Irvine Medical Center.


Bradley Torgan has joined Truman & Elliott LLP, a downtown Los Angeles-based land use and environmental law firm, as counsel. Previously, Torgan served as general counsel of the California Department of Parks and Recreation.

Paul Hastings has promoted Peter Burke and Joshua Hamilton to partners in the law firm's downtown Los Angeles headquarters. Burke and Hamilton were previously associates with the firm.


The Century City office of Moxie Interactive, an Atlanta-based interactive marketing agency, has hired Sara Francis as vice president and group account director, Brian Mathena as vice president and group media director, and Paul Santello as senior vice president and group communications director. Francis was previously senior vice president of marketing at KTV Digital Media in Santa Monica. Mathena was vice president and group media director in the Santa Monica office of Carat, a media communications agency headquartered in London. Santello was executive vice president and executive client director for the West Coast region of Carat.


The Hollywood Entertainment District, a non-profit business improvement district along Hollywood Boulevard from the La Brea Gateway to Gower Street, has named Christopher Bonbright, chief executive of Ramsey-Shilling Commercial Real Estate Services, as president. Michael Gargano, managing director of New York-based real estate company Argent Ventures, was named secretary; Thaddeus Smith, owner of the Hollywood-based events and concert venue Music Box, was named vice president; and Frank Stephan, senior managing director of New York-based real estate company Clarett Group, was named treasurer. The district has also named the following new board members: Greg Angelo, director of real property management and development at the Metropolitan Transportation District; Jeff Cohen, chief operating officer of Gatehouse Capital, a real estate investment firm based in Dallas; Shawn Ingram, executive director of My Friend's Place, a Hollywood non-profit center for homeless youth; Don Jacinto, general manager of Roosevelt Hotel; and Jan Martin, executive director and vice president of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy.

Alan M. Dias was named executive director of Angel Flight West, a Santa Monica-headquartered non-profit organization that arranges free non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions. Dias was most recently a partner at Al-Jen Inc., a real estate holding company in La Canada Flintridge.

Real Estate

Dana A. Ostenson has joined Barker Pacific Group Inc., a downtown Los Angeles-based commercial real estate services firm, as principal. Ostenson was previously managing director of Johnson Capital Investment Banking, an Irvine-based commercial real estate investment bank.

JRK Property Holdings, a West L.A.-based commercial real estate owner and operator, has appointed John Flannigan president of the JRK Hotel Group. Flannigan previously served as general manager at Hotel Roger Williams, a company-owned New York hotel.


John Mutch has joined Symark International, an information security company based in Agoura Hills, as chief executive. Mutch was previously founder and managing partner of investment firm MV Advisors LLC.


The American Institute of Architects California Council, in partnership with the American Society of Landscape Architects California Council, has presented honor awards for urban design to Mia Lehrer + Associates for the Los Angeles River revitalization master plan and Ah'be landscape architects for the South Park streetscape project; Gruen Associates earned a merit award for urban design for the Mid-City-Exposition Corridor light-rail transit project. Mia Lehrer + Associates is a Koreatown-based landscape architecture firm. Ah'be landscape architects is a Culver City-based landscape architecture firm. Gruen Associates is a South Carthay-based architectural and interior design firm.
