ARCHITECTURE

Interior Architects has hired Brandi Mayo as business development manager for its Los Angeles office. Mayo was previously architecture and design representative at Humanscale, a company that manufactures ergonomic office furniture.

BANKING & FINANCE

Comerica Bank has promoted Keith L. Tuitt to vice president and district manager for the Los Angeles Mid-City and Westside district. Tuitt was previously vice president and banking center manager for the bank's Crenshaw branch.

Melinda Dorji has joined Kinecta Federal Credit Union as vice president of loan servicing. Dorji was previously first vice president of ResMAE Mortgage Corp.

CONSULTING

Karl Hardesty has been named regional managing partner of the Los Angeles office of Tatum, an executives services and business consulting firm. Hardesty was previously managing partner of the company's Orange County office.

ENGINEERING

Parsons Commercial Technology Group, an engineering and construction company, has named Michael M. Walsh president. Walsh was previously executive vice president and global business development manager with the company.

GOVERNMENT

Dean F. Efstathiou has been named acting director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. Efstathiou was previously chief deputy director of Public Works.

LANDSCAPE

ValleyCrest Cos., a Calabasas-based landscape design, construction and management company, has hired Jonathan Wyman as vice president of business development. Wyman was previously vice president and director of business development with SB Architects, an architectural firm specializing in hotels, resorts and residential projects.

LAW

Randall J. Dean has been appointed president of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. Dean is a partner at the Los Angeles office of Chapman Glucksman & Dean, a California-based law firm.

Goodwin Procter has named Elliot D. Hinds, Marc A. Jones, Q. Scott Kaye and Eric R. Reimer corporate partners in its Los Angeles office. Hinds, Jones and Kaye were previously partners with McDermott Will & Emery. Reimer was chairman of McDermott Will & Emery's global leveraged-finance practice group.

The Los Angeles office of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, a national law firm, has promoted Ryan J. Larsen to partner in its litigation and dispute resolution practice, and named Colbern C. Stuart partner in its intellectual property practice. Larsen was previously an attorney with the firm. Stuart was a partner with the San Diego office of international law firm Heller Ehrman LLP.

Masood Sohaili has joined the Los Angeles office of Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP, a national law and consulting firm as partner. Sohaili was previously a partner at O'Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles.

MANUFACTURING

Cereplast Inc., a Hawthorne-based company that designs and manufactures bio-based sustainable plastics, has named Randy G. Woelfel president and chief operating officer. Woelfel was previously managing director for Houston Technology Center, a non-profit technology business incubator.

MARKETING

TruePresence, a national Internet marketing firm, has hired Buzz Park as area president of its new Los Angeles office. Park was previously an account executive with CBS Radio in Los Angeles.

Jeff Salmon has been named president of Campos Creative Works, a company that produces business-to-business and experimental marketing events. Previously, Salmon was executive vice president of production with TBA Global Events Inc., a Woodland Hills-based marketing company.

NON-PROFIT

John Kearns has been named director of communications of the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau. Kearns was previously public relations manager for Wescom Credit Union.

Bienvenidos, an Altadena-based non-profit organization providing services for children and families in underserved areas, has appointed Ritchie L. Geisel to chief executive and president. Geisel was previously interim executive director of the Virginia Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

PHARMACEUTICALS

Xencor Inc., a Monrovia-based company that develops protein and antibody therapeutics, has named David R. King chairman of the board. King was previously co-founder and chief executive of BioRexis Pharmaceuticals Corp., a company that develops and produces biopharmaceuticals.

REAL ESTATE

Carl Anderson has joined the Pasadena office of NAI Capital, a commercial real estate brokerage headquartered in Encino, as executive vice president and branch manager. Anderson previously served as senior vice president at the downtown Los Angeles office of Grubb & Ellis Co.

Grubb & Ellis Co. has hired James D. Jandro as senior vice president of its South Bay office. Jandro was previously senior vice president with CB Richard Ellis.

CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. has named Dave Pogue its national director for sustainability of institutional and corporate services. Pogue most recently served as senior managing director of the firm's Western region asset services group.

Mark Bachli has been named partner of the Los Angeles office of Bond Cos., a real estate investment firm. Bachli was previously senior vice president of project management with the firm.

TRANSPORTATION

Jay Lee has been named managing vice president and regional director for Korean Air's operations in North and South America. Previously, Lee served as managing vice president of the business strategy division of Korean Air in Seoul, South Korea.
