Health Net Inc. said it has formed a partnership with Bank of America Corp. to market health-care payment plans.

Under the agreement, customers covered by Health Net insurance can use a BofA debit card to access their health-savings account and to pay for health-care expenses. Customers will have online access to the accounts and be able to electronically pay bills and view expenses.

“Health Net and Bank of America understand the complexity and the rising cost of health care,” Kathleen Richard, a spokeswoman for Health Net said in a statement. “This partnership will provide an alternative option to employers and individuals who wish to improve their health-care experience while curbing their rising medical costs.”

Woodland Hills-based Health Net provides managed health care for nearly 7 million people through group, individual, Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE and Veterans Affairs programs.
